Natasha Gomperts’ work oscillates between two related themes: absense which tends toward the abstract and presence, which can be more narrative and elegiac. Often her work is site specific and a response to people who share something in common. It is both analytical and emotive, and is at its best when subject and media challenge each other to form an unlikely alliance.
Drawing with a stick of carbon is Natasha’s particular passion. In 2009 Natasha started to draw portraits to commission. There is gap in the market between those wanting highly finished paintings and the pavement portrait artist. Natasha’s portrait drawing is both spontaneous and interpretive and gives the viewer the space to imagine.
Quick charcoal sketch on A3 at studio from £75.00. Bespoke drawing from £220.00.
